Historic Assynt
Assynt, in north west Scotland, has a long and dramatic history, and many reminders of this can be seen all around the parish. Perhaps the most significant sites of interest for the visitor are the dramatic ruins of Ardvreck Castle and nearby Calda House on the shores of Loch Assynt. Local group ‘Historic Assynt’ have preserved these monuments and improved access. They are now completing restoration of the nearby old Parish Church at Inchnadamph as an interpretation centre and an appropriate setting for weddings.
